OneNote on 64 bit Windows 7

Jump to navigation

While this isn't a problem with Windows 7, it may affect new Windows 7 users since many will be upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit at the same time. The issue is that Microsoft's OneNote doesn't support the "Send to OneNote 2007" printer under 64 bit Windows (XP, Vista or 7).

So, what you you do about it? I tried several solutions and didn't find any that really did the job until I ran accross this: http://onenoteprintdriver.blogspot.com/2009/08/onenote-2007-print-driver-solution-for.html

The directions are good and about the only thing that I can add to them is that you must be sure that normal (unelevated) users have write premissions to the directory where you choose to put the temp file and that you might want to uncheck the option "Wait until the program/script is ready" so that you don't have to close OneNote for the printing to be "finished".
